I came on on a break last night to get rid of a mouse Becky had trapped under a basket in the living room.
I am not humane. The little fucker ran straight for the house when I let it go out in the street, so I killed it.
Then I broke the basement window trying to pull the hose out. (possible route of entry) so now there is blankets stuffed in the window. I'm gonna board it up later.

So yeah, I'm a killer.

How am I supposed to make the world a better place if nobody is reading my profound thoughts?

I wish

I wish I could feel how other people feel. Like touch them and feel how sad they are. Or how tired they are. or angry or happy!!
Like, (I touch Becky) "wow, hunny, you ARE really tired. Like blow my tired away tired!!"
Or, (touch somebody) "what are you whining about, that doesn't hurt!!"
stuff like that. and vice versa, like someone could touch me and feel how tired or happy or frustrated, or bored I am.
Wouldn't that be cool?
It would make it so much easier to sympathize with people if you REALLY knew how they felt.

Rough night

Grace threw up in her bed at 2 am. had to have a bath. change sheets. Then she was all clingy to becky. I know Becky was in her bed for a time but I don't know how long or how much Becky actually slept.
We didn't go to bed til 130 (Guitar Hero) and I had fallen asleep but Becky was still reading. So really she didn't get to bed til after 230 at least.
Then Grace wet her bed this morning. SHe hasn't done that in ages.
I had her chillin' in her toyroom and she called for me. She had to puke again. she was in the prone position in the hall. She points to the floor and she had like drooled or spit or something. Then she heaved once so I hauled into the bathroom and she threw up again. carpet is fine.
The girls were supposed to spend the afternoon at the grandparents so Becky and I could run some errands in Kingston without hassle, but that's not happening. I have to go get new boots for work and maybe a sway bar for the van but that's it. Going alone.
Hope Grace feels better soon.

I mean Seriously

It's January. I am looking the temperature on my Weather Network thingy and it says 14. +14. Celsius. WTF!!!?
Spring already? Good thing I didn't go out and buy that snowmachine!! I like winter. yes, shovelling is a pain but I like it when it's chilly out. Spring is my LEAST favourite season. Oh but the leaves are back on the trees and the flowers are coming out, yeah but, everything is mud!! all the crap that got hidden by snow is there. garbage, the leaves that never got picked up in the fall and most especially dogshit. Both where it should be and were it should not. It's one thing picking up my own dog's shit, but when passersby let their dogs poo on my lawn because it sinks in the snow, or the snow will cover it up, I get mad. I feel bad when my dog urinates on someone's lawn.
Anyway, I'm getting off topic. It's too warm for January. I barely got to wear my winter coat. Good thing it was free. I did get new winter boots though. only $40 so I guess that's not back seeing as they will last a long time I think.

I gotta go get some gas for the lawnmower, see ya!!

Holiday Rant

now, I celebrate christian holidays. i appreciate the plant shutdown over
Christmas. but it is kind of disturbing that such a big deal is made over 1
religion's special days. What about Hanukkah? or Kwanzaa? or Ramadan? Are
the people who belief in those faiths allowed to take a week off (or
month)? not here.
If I were a Muslim, Christmas means nothing to me. I would want to work
over Christmas have time off at Ramadan. or if I were a Jew and do not
believe that Jesus was the saviour, I would want to work over Christmas and
have Hanukkah off.
But our western society is dominated by christians. so our whole society is
based around christianity. God keep our land....In God we
Trust....christmas,easter...

.stores closed on Sunday for the sabbath, etc.
Maybe it's time that society starts to recognize that we are multi-cultural
and a multi-religious society and go outside the box.
A Muslim friend of mine had to turn down a job once because they wouldn't
allow him time for his prayers. sad.
It will probably never happen that all faiths and beliefs are recognized
and given equal treatment. What is more likely is that religion period is
suppressed and all holidays and the like are purely non-denominational. Even
now it's politically incorrect to even say Merry Christmas. It has to be
Happy Holidays. that's just a band-aid, because it's not even a holiday for
many of the people they are trying to please by not saying Merry Christmas.
Maybe I am just more tolerant than most. even tolerance isn't the right term. Acceptance is more accurate.
Although, I have placed my faith in the one true religion of the universe.

eyes still bloodshot

I can feel it.
I shouldn't complain too loudly. Becky always is the one up half the night with Amelia. Usually when Amelia is fussy, I have to work the next day or am at work, so Becky does it.
When I don't have to work she is usually sleeping all night. Funny how that works.
Becky was "off" last night to I took the shift. Amelia wasn't TOO bad. up at like 1-something and then again at 330.
Grace was a different story. I had to get up twice because she was crying in her bed. Like scream cry. She said her foot hurt. She gets foot cramps. Usually she is still asleep and it takes a while to calm her down.
Parenthood. Gotta love it.

We got new cell phones yesterday. Family plan type deal. Becky got a small Blackberry and I got a phone too (don't ask me what the name is). It's gonna cost us a little more but I am going to slash the services on the home phone to make up for it. We never use them all anyway. I am gonna look into the long distance too.
I posted my cell # on my Facebook page (only friends can see it).
oh yeah, both phones have mp3. yeah baby! too bad Becky got me a new mp3 player for my birthday!! now I have 3 essentially. Maybe I could give one to Jessie.

I don't believe there is a word for the kind of tired I am.
Amelia is teething (we think) and she has a cold. Therefore she isn't sleeping.
Becky put in a valiant effort until 2am at which point she was likely to spontaneously combust.
I took over because I wasn't sleeping anyway.
She played on the floor a bit then I tried to get to fall asleep in her chair to no avail. So onto my lap she want. She was very very tired by this point and just needed to give up. So when she threw herself back and laid on my legs with her head upside down off my knees (and was quiet) I went with it. I put my legs up so all the blood wouldn't rush to her head and she fell asleep just like that.
I managed to get her in her crib without a fight.
3:30am
I hit the snooze from 5 to 530.
I need to make my lunch and shovel a little bit before I leave for work. This is gonna be fun.

I did it!

I beat Guitar Hero 3 on medium on Wednesday. It took at while and some luck I am sure.
The battle against Lou was crazy!!
I guess I move on to hard. really hard.

Heading in for a weekend of nights. great. I am trying to get some OT in before christmas. I kinda need two. Either way I slice it, I end up working 7 straight. oi!
We'll see.
At least I'm in the lab from the 13th on.

comfy

so here i sit in my plaid jammie pants and an oversized hoody. comfy.
glad to not have to work today.
it's going to be busy for me starting next week. I'd like to get 2 OT in so i have a good pay for the boxing week sales. but I have a shift trade the 16th and if I want to get an OT in that week it would put me at 7 days in a row right before Christmas. I don't think I can do that.
If I can get 2 in next week it should make up for it. I also got 2 Double-time OT over the break. It's all good.
For now, I am chillin'.
But I have lots of work to do. christmas lights up, finish shovelling, bit of cleanup outside, bathe the dog, and laundry.
I wish I got paid to do that work!

I have beat Guitar Hero 3 on Easy. It wasn't easy.
Playing Through The Fire and Flames by Dragonforce was incredible fun.
I'm gonna go do it again now before I have to get ready for work!!

Crap E. Weather

It's like terrible freezing rain out there. That stinks. gonna have to start the car early! I also have to stop at A&P on the way to get some bread. Forgot last night.
I have this crazy pain in my neck that spreads seemingly through by bones down my back, across my shoulder blade and down my arm. I woke up with it Monday. Must have slept wrong and pinched a nerve. Tylenol 3? I think so. Nothing else has worked. I might go see the nurse or Doc Brown today.
I also have to hand in my Team Leader application. Wish me luck.

at bought a PS2 for my Guitar Hero. although the wireless guitar won't sync up. I have terrible luck.

Guitar Hero 3 for PC

So I went out and bought Guitar Hero 3 for PC yesterday. Great! I don't have to buy a game console and I can still play! Wrong!! My video card isn't good enough. I need a 3D accelerator card. That's like 80 bucks. still cheaper than a PS2 but I still have to buy it.
Chad is coming over tonight and he thinks he has one kickin around. Let's hope so. We'll just keep trying whatever ones he has and see if one works. Otherwise he might sell me his PS2 cheap and then I will have to go exchange the PC version for the PS2 version. still a pain in the ass.
I just want to PLAY!!

My first blog post

So I have decided to start a blog. I am not sure what I am even going to blog about but I am sure I will think of something to rant about. random thoughts, flashes of genius, complaints and observations.
We'll see what turns out.

Becky had her wisdom teeth out on Wed and I have not had to work since Tuesday. It's a little weird. I'm losing my sense of time. I don't know what day it is. I don't remember the last time I had 4 days off. Well, it was April, but you get my drift.
i don't mind being home at all, it's just different. becky has been a little out of commission the last few days so I've been "Mr. Mom". It's weird, I just slip right into it. Like when Becky was VERY pregnant and when Amelia was newborn, I did everything. Dishes, Laundry, cleaning etc. I just did it. Becky didn't even have to ask me. When I get in that mode, the smallest little thing gets on my nerves. Grace leaves a plate on the floor, Becky leaves a pop can beside her chair, the cat leaves a balled-up sock somewhere. I can't say I am a saint at all, but like I said, when I get in that mode.....
When I go back to work sunday night, it'll all be different. I'll be tired and sore again and I won't want to clean anymore. We need a free maid.
