Laughed my ass off

So the fam and I were driving home from Belleville on the 401. We had just passed the Paint Test Strip Area. Becky was in the passing lane and she could tell it was KILLING me not to driving on the test strips so she changed lanes. Ahhhh thank you. That was funny but not lmao funny.
right, so just after that, this BMW goes screaming by us. We knew there was a cruiser (fully marked) about 3 or 4 cars ahead of us.
Now, every time we see a car going WAY to fast past us we always say "oh, I wish there was a cop up there!"
Well, this time we knew there was. So, Becky says "Ha! Wouldn't it great if that guy got nailed?"
to which I replied, "well, there is a cop up there"
Not 30 Seconds later, I spot the lights and see the cop pulling the BMW over.
HYSTERICS!!!!!
Dumbass.

It reminded me of the time years ago we saw this guy pass us going at least 150. Probably more. About a minute later we see the dude pulled over at the side of the highway with smoke billowing out from under the hood. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Don't get me wrong, I like to drive fast. However, these jerk offs were speeding with lots of traffic, creating a danger to the other vehicles.

Where's my patch cord??

I have a a very strong urge lately to start making music again. I don't
know why but I feel like I need to pick up my bass again and make some
metal. I try to scream everyday to kind of work on my scream. I don't want
to destroy my vocal chords so I am working a little bit at a time. I am
finding that tone in my scream where it doesn't hurt. That range that I can
comfortably scream for longer periods of time and I don't feel like a
swallowed shards of glass.
I haven't played my bass in a long time so that's gonna take a little more
practice. I've been playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band but that doesn't
count. I really feel like I have it in me again to start playing.
I need to find all my equipment though. I know where my bass and my amp
are. But, not too sure about my cords and pedal. I'll find them and then
destroy the world through my music.

chipping away

We got most of the flower beds cleaned out yesterday.
We bagged 6 bags of leaves.
I BBQ'd.
Today I will clean out the car and practice some golf with my Swingmaster.
Then nap before work.

I found my Decibel magazine last night. It was behind some other mail on my desk. I didn't think it came yet. So excited!! I love Decibel.

I got a bit done

I got a new bike today. Reg $300, on sale for $100! yeah baby!
I took the girls outside and we got some stuff done. Amelia didn't really pull her weight but I'll let her off due to the fact she is a baby. She sat and played in the playpen the whole time. She was great!
Grace drew in the driveway and helped me bag some leaves.
I got 3 branches trimmed. 2 left, but they were too high for me to do without another adult around.
cleaned up the yard a bit (winter blown garbage)
swept the driveway
cleaned up the dog doodie
oh, cleaned out the back eaves-troughs.
Brought the clothes in from the line and put another load out.

Good times.
I like working outside like that. I can step back and see what I have accomplished. It makes me happy. I was having a rough morning but being outside with the girls and getting stuff done has made me feel much better.

Now I have to do dishes. Boo.

I feel a little better now

The weather was really gettin' me down until last weekend.
Then it was nice out and Chad helped me fix a few things outside.
I get really bogged down with stuff that needs to be done, or at least
stuff I feel needs ot be done. I can't sleep well until I get some done.
So the eavestrough is back up and the tap for the garden hose is fixed.
I fixed the toilet myself before that.
I got the dog's yard all cleaned up from her droppings that were locked in
the snow and ice. (what a treat that was)
Then on Thursday I put up the new clothes line. 60ft of glorious, zero
energy consumption drying capacity!
BUT, although the line is up, my work is not done. I won't be able to stop
thinking about trimming back the lilac branches that are around the
clothesline until I do it. What's stopping me? work and WEATHER!! damn
rain!!

Add that to long list of other stuff I need to do. Like:
Cleaning up all the leaves and stuff I didn't get around to in the fall.
Cleaning up the gardens.
cleaning up/reorganizing the back room, the back-back room and the shed.
Changing the air filters on both vehicles.
Replacing the sway bar link on the van.
Cleaning out and detailing both vehicles.
Build a bat house.
Build display shelves for my beer bottle collection.
Put the canopy back up outside.
Clean out the eavestroughs.
Level out and seed the lawn.
Paint the fence.
Move the baby gate.
Flip the fridge door.
Wash the dog.
Strip and stain the deck.
Strip and paint the porch.
Resurface the driveway.

i am sure there is more but I head is about to explode so I'll stop there.
Well, at least I have a list all written out now. I can check stuff off as
I go.
At least I have a case of beer (2 actually, Thanks Hun!!) to help me along
the way and as incentive for anyone who wants to help??

Grace has been sick

Grace has been sick this week. Poor thing. But,she's a trooper!!
It's actually kind of funny the way she is handling it.
We were in Belleville on Monday when it started. I had her in Winners (looking for Becky and Amelia) and she says to me "Daddy I puked" I asked her where and she replied "In my panties". I had to hold back my laughter.
She's been saying it like that ever since.
The other sad but funny thing that happened was when she fell asleep on the way home and then threw up in her sleep. That's not the funny part. This is. When she woke up, it didn't even phase her that she and the car seat (fun cleaning that up.not.) were covered in puke. First thing she says is "um, Daddy, I think we need to change my pants."
Yeah, I think so.

I am awesome

I won $300 in a hockey pool earlier this week.
So I paid some bills and bought a case of beer.
I hope I can be so lucky as to win the playoff pool too.

I am SO ready for Spring

I want the snow gone. Spring is here on the calendar anyway so I want spring to be here in reality.
I want to take the girls for a walk and not bundle up or worry about climbing over snow banks.
I want to be able to pull the wagon on the sidewalks.
I want to play baseball!!
I want to wear shorts. (you can bet if it hits 12, I will be)
I want to dig my bike out and save some gas.
Most of all I want to be able to take the girls outside to play with out snow or cold.

Before any of that I have to put the eaves-trough back on the house. Stupid ice.

I got a new tattoo Friday.

It's an M and an R together. To symbolize Matt and Rebecca, together. and the forever part because it's a tattoo and it will be there forever.
It didn't hurt that much. At least not as much as I remember my other tattoos hurting even though it's on my finger and I thought it would hurt more.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!
It was over all too fast here. It took Grace about 5 minutes to find the eggs and start mowin' down.
Busy day ahead of us. Lots of family to see and talk to.

Have a great day everyone!

Jeff had it all figured out

I got thinking about a high school friend Jeff. He's home from Afghanistan for a few weeks. Thanks Jeff!
Anyway, back in high school Jeff always wore the same thing. We all wore uniforms but whenever we weren't, Jeff wore a white t-shirt and black jeans. I don't remember seeing him wear anything else. Some people were jerks about it.
But I look back now and realize Jeff (knowingly or unknowingly) had it all figured out. He liked wearing that and be damned what other people thought!! Anyone who would criticize anyone else for their clothes isn't worth your time anyway.
Don't judge a book by it's cover right?
He was comfortable with who he was and didn't need to wear the trendy expensive clothes to try and make "the right people" like him. I think back about some of the people we hung out with and they were assholes. They were mean. Why should their opinion matter?
They are probably living meaningless lives by now.
Jeff is a hero. He fights to protect our country from those who would like to see our way of life destroyed.
He still wears the same thing all the time. A soldier's gear. And a whole lot of Pride.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I get to celebrate by working my 7th shift in a row.
I better find something green to wear though.
Is it okay to have a beer on my lunch break?

I'm so proud!

My little girl Grace donated a good 10 inches of her gorgeous curls to Cuts for Cancer yesterday. Pretty amazing for a 4 year old. As much as I miss those curls, it's for a great cause and she looks super cute!
It will be much easier to handle at it's current length. We always have a hard time brushing it.
It's great.

We took a video of Grace on the radio on Friday talking about it and a whole whack of pictures of the whole things.
I'll post a link on here later.

i had a rant but...

I forgot.
It might have been something about idiots who only clean off their windshield enough that they can see out. not the passenger side, or the sides, or the back. Real safe, man.
Or those who do clean the windows off but leave a foot and a half on top which flies off as they drive in front of you causing a localized white-out. That's great too.
Or how I can't watch a Canucks game on Sportsnet Pacific because it's blacked out. But I'm in ONTARIO!!
I know it wasn't any of those things but I still can't remember. It will come to me tonight and work and I'll forget again by the time I get home.

Death and Taxes

Nobody died but we did do our taxes.
We got a good return that we can use for car repairs (how exciting!!) and save for our trip.
Don't worry, we picked up some things that we have been coveting for a while but could never justify actually buying.
I'm gonna get some new glasses too. I'm ready for new ones but I will keep these around for concerts and baseball.
Suppertime!

Nothing broken

just bruised. ugly bruise but that's better than a break.
I fixed the nail so she won't fall again.

Man down! (or woman down really)

Becky caught her sock on a nail on the stairs putting the dog away and fell down the stairs Monday night.
She went for x-rays and should find out today. The doctor thinks it could be a broken rib(s) and/or a broken wrist. In either case it would just be a a chip or a hairline fracture. not like a full break. No fun either way but she can still walk and use her wrist it just hurts ALOT.
I don't have to work til Friday night so I can take care of her.
Gottta go. Just heard something bang upstairs . Better see what Grace is up to.

Valentine's Day

My wonderful wife got me a Gift Certificate for a TATTOO!!! She's the best.
I made her dinner and cleaned up. Awwww.

I hope we can relax together on the couch and maybe watch a movie!!

I am a killer

I came on on a break last night to get rid of a mouse Becky had trapped under a basket in the living room.
I am not humane. The little fucker ran straight for the house when I let it go out in the street, so I killed it.
Then I broke the basement window trying to pull the hose out. (possible route of entry) so now there is blankets stuffed in the window. I'm gonna board it up later.

So yeah, I'm a killer.
